POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Merchandise will manage the end-to-end process of sports merchandise, ensuring seamless communication with suppliers, fans, and other stakeholders. Work with suppliers to ensure timely product deliveries, manage product flow, and implement effective merchandise and inventory control measures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine merchandise levels needed for events and games, manage merchandise and inventory levels on a regular basis and restock as needed.
- Update Website(s), maintaining accurate product information in databases and systems, adding new products, coordinating photography, etc.
- Supervise and schedule appropriate staff for all home games, as well as event and retail support needed.
- Develop, maintain, and update efficient processes for essential work and management functions.
- Assist in managing merchandise for a full-time retail store.
- Analyze sales trends and work closely with the merchandising team to optimize product assortments.
- Develop sales plans, promotions, and provide training and support to staff to successfully reach sales goals.
- Explore, recommend and select a diverse line of merchandise offerings and product design.
- Coordinate production and delivery of merchandise on timelines and deadlines established.
- Source most reliable, cost-effective vendors and suppliers.
- Work with licensing agencies to secure approvals for branded products.
- Coordinate creation of product catalogs, updating e-commerce platforms and maintaining accurate inventory data.
- Research and stay up to date on sports apparel trends and in-demand items to increase sales and revenue.
- Coordinate merchandise requests from other departments.
- Respond to Customer Service questions and requests through the customer service email box.
- Perform any additional duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sports Business field preferred
- Expert with Shopify or other E-commerce online platforms
- Experience managing retail sports sales preferred.
- Previous experience managing others.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience with Google Suite.
- Experience with graphic design software e.g. Adobe Illustrator preferred.
- Experience with creating or evaluating production-ready artwork preferred.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt and multi-task.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift weight of 20-25 pounds as needed.
- Attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple aspects simultaneously.
