As the only free youth soccer academy for boys in Connecticut, that is also operated by a professional team, our mission is to break down barriers and empower players from all backgrounds to excel on and off the field. Talent IDs (Tryouts)

To identify talented players who embody the spirit of CT United FC, a series of tryouts, also known as Talent IDs, will be conducted in Connecticut this spring. Interested and eligible players are required to register online to secure their spot in ONE tryout series.  

Beginning in the 2026-27 season, CT United Academy will continue to operate its MLS NEXT fully funded professional pathway at the U15, U16, and U19 levels (100% scholarship support), providing top players with a direct connection to the club’s professional environment and eliminating financial barriers to participation. 

Alongside the fully funded professional pathway, CT United Academy will field U12, U13, U14, and U17 teams within its high-performance development program. These teams will operate as paid programs with need-based financial aid available.  

This structure reflects the club’s commitment to both access and opportunity—ensuring that elite talent can pursue the professional pathway without cost while also expanding the reach of the academy to serve a broader group of aspiring players. 

Please note: Players are required to register and try out within their designated age group. All decisions regarding player movement are made by the technical staff.

  • U14 (under 14) for those born in year 2013 
  • U15 (under 15) for those born in year 2012 
  • U16 (under 16) for those born in year 2011 
  • U17 (under 17) for those born in year 2010 
  • U19 (under 19) for those born in years 2008 and 2009‍
