Huntsville City Football Club to Host Philadelphia Union II at Joe Davis Stadium at 7 P.m. CT on Saturday

Huntsville, Ala. (Aug. 17, 2023)– Huntsville City Football Club will play the first game of a two-match homestand when it takes on Philadelphia Union II at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. Tickets for the match, which will also serve as Pride Night, can be purchased here.

Midfielder Christopher Pearson will be eligible to make his Huntsville City FC debut on Saturday. Pearson was signed this week on loan from FC Tulsa for the remainder of the 2023 season. Earlier today, Pearson spoke to the media, describing acclimating to a new team, his skillset, and what he’s most looking forward to as a new player for the club.

Earlier today, Huntsville City FC Head Coach Jack Collison and Pearson previewed the match against Philadelphia, discussing the challenges they present, the importance of the final stretch of the season, and the positive attitude of the players as they make a push for playoffs.

As Huntsville plays in its game on Saturday, the team’s parent club, Nashville Soccer Club, will be playing in the Leagues Cup 2023 Final. Nashville will host Inter Miami at 8 p.m. CT at GEODIS Park on Saturday, Aug. 19. After Huntsville’s game, fans at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium will get the chance to watch the second half of the Leagues Cup 2023 Final.

Also, after the game, fans will get a unique chance to walk the pitch at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. Following the full-time whistle, attendees can come onto the field and take pictures under the new LED lights with RBG capabilities.

HCFC will honor community members and organizations making a difference in our city at every home match. This Saturday, Section 256, a special section in the stadium dedicated to celebrating our community, will host guests from Rocket City Pride, whose mission is to advance unity, visibility, and self-esteem among sexual and gender minorities and their allies. Rocket City Pride President Brandon Edwards will be honored as the Hero of the Match. Veteran E-7 Chief Petty Officer Robert Moore of the U.S. Coast Guard will serve as this week’s Landers McLarty Chevrolet Military Salute.
