Huntsville City Football Club to Return Home to Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium at 6 P.M. CT on Sunday

Huntsville, Ala. (June 16, 2023)– Huntsville City Football Club will return home to play its second match of the week when it faces Inter Miami II on Sunday, June 18 at 6 p.m. CT. The match will also serve to honor Father’s Day and Juneteenth.  

Fans will have many ways to celebrate their fathers this weekend for Father’s Day. Come Sunday, there will be a special Father's Day Happy Hour at the Yellowhammer Brewing Craft Beer Garden, featuring $2 draft beers and $2 hot dogs. The first 25 dads in the Beer Garden during Happy Hour will get a chance to take a photo with their family on the pitch! Also, every in-stadium purchase of the new Columbia polo will include an HCFC dad hat.

Huntsville City FC will also have amenities to honor the anniversary of the emancipation of Black Americans. On top of the National Anthem, the Black National Anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be performed before kickoff by Huntsville soul singer Nina Marie. 

Additionally, HCFC will honor community members and organizations making a difference in our city at every home match. This Sunday, Section 256, a special section in the stadium dedicated to celebrating our community, will host guests from United Women of Color, an organization whose mission is to empower is to empower girls and women to create an inclusive community by providing opportunities for advancement and equity through educational programs, civic engagement, and advocacy. United Women of Color’s founder, Angela Curry, will be honored as the Hero of the Match. Veteran Chief Warrant Officer 4 Sheren Roberts of the U.S. Army will serve as this week’s Landers McLarty Chevrolet Military Salute.

Season ticket memberships and single game tickets for Huntsville’s inaugural season at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium are still available at www.mlsnextpro.com/huntsvillecityfc/tickets. So far, more than 3,000 season tickets have been purchased for this season.    

Yesterday, Huntsville City FC Head Coach Jack Collison and midfielder Josh Drack previewed the match against Inter Miami II. They spoke about the short turnaround following the midweek match and what they want to do differently from their first matchup with Inter Miami II earlier this season.

In its last time out, Huntsville City FC picked up its first road win in club history 2-1 against Toronto FC II. Kemy Amiche continues to stay hot, scoring his third goal in his last two games to give Huntsville the early lead. Josh Drack added his first goal of the season in the second half to double the advantage. While Toronto was able to get one goal back, Huntsville was able to secure the three points.
