Huntsville, Ala. (July 28, 2023)– Huntsville City Football Club will hit the road for the second straight weekend to take on NYCFC II at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, July 23. The match marks the second of two meetings between the clubs after Huntsville fell in the first matchup 4-3 on June 2 at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.
Earlier today, Huntsville City FC Head Coach Jack Collison previewed the match explaining the challenges New York presents, the unfinished business the team feels it has against New York, the departure of Nick Law, and who has stepped up as a leader.
Huntsville City FC is coming off a trailing 4-2 road win over Atlanta United 2 last Sunday. After falling behind within the first ten minutes, Jony Bolaños leveled the match but Atlanta grabbed the lead again before halftime. Coming into the second half, goals from Azaad Liadi, Nebiyou Perry and Kemy Amiche helped Huntsville complete the comeback and pick up its second road win of the season, this time against Coach Collison's former club.
