Bridgeview, IL (May 12, 2023)āÆāāÆHuntsville City Football ClubāÆpicked up two points following a penalty shootout win overāÆChicago Fire II Friday nightāÆat SeatGeek Stadium. After the match finished 1-1 in regulation, Huntsville secured the extra point by winning the penalty kick shootout 4-1.
Huntsville got on the board first on the last kick of the first half, when midfielder Isaiah Johnston converted a penalty after teammate Chris NāSa was taken down in the box. This marked Johnstonās first goal for the club.
Chicago got an equalizer early in the second half after a foul on a corner kick led to a penalty, which the Fire converted.
After regulation finished 1-1, Huntsville would secure the extra point after winning the shootout 4-1, with Isaiah Johnston making the winning penalty and goalkeeper John Berner making a crucial save in his Huntsville City FC debut.
