Toronto FC II midfielder Nathaniel Edwards has earned the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 20 for his strike against Columbus Crew 2 last weekend.
Edwards delivered the game-winner in the 68th minute, finishing off a quick counterattack sparked by teammate Hassan Ayari. The 22-year-old received the ball in the Crew 2 box, cut inside onto his right foot, and knocked a shot past the Columbus goalkeeper to seal the TFC II win.
It was Edwards’ second goal of the 2025 season and proved crucial in helping TFC II pick up a much-needed victory as they fight to stay in the playoff race.
Other Goal of the Matchweek 20 nominees included Emmanuel Uchegbu (Crown Legacy FC), Nico Rincón (Columbus Crew 2), and Carson Locker (FC Cincinnati 2).
TFC II will look to build on their momentum when they travel south to face Chattanooga FC on August 2nd during Matchweek 21 action, aiming for back-to-back wins for the second time this season.
