One, two and then boom!
Just two minutes into Philadelphia Union II’s match against FC Cincinnati 2, 17-year-old Kellan LeBlanc stepped up to a free kick and launched an absolute rocket into the FCC2 goal.
That jaw-dropping strike earned LeBlanc the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 21 and Union II a 1-0 victory at home.
It was LeBlanc's second goal of the season and his fifth total goal contribution in what has been a breakout year for the Union Academy product.
LeBlanc signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract back in February and has quickly become a key figure for a Union II side currently tied for first in the Eastern Conference.
Other Goal of Matchweek 21 nominees included Ibrahima Sy (Columbus Crew 2), Sebastian Gomez (Tacoma Defiance), and Tommy Musto (Ventura County FC).
Next up for Philadelphia Union II is a massive one-versus-two showdown against New York Red Bulls II on August 11th at MSU Soccer Park, with first place in the Eastern Conference on the line.
