Bruno Baltazar Appointed as Head Coach

RNY FC have appointed Bruno Baltazar to be their new head coach for the upcoming 2022 season. Baltazar brings to the club a wealth of experience, having coached in several countries, including Portugal, England and Cyprus. He was assistant manager in the EFL Championship at former European Cup winners Nottingham Forest. Prior to this he had a successful spell in Cyprus with APOEL Nicosia, where he won the championship and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. In addition to this, he was also part of the coaching team with the Philippines National team (led by former US player Thomas Dooley), winning a silver medal in the AFC Challenge Cup.

On his appointment, multilinguist Baltazar (he speaks Portuguese, Spanish, English and French), said "I'm really proud and honored to become RNY FC's Head Coach in this exciting restart for the club. I can't wait to start work, in order to build a glorious chapter in the club's history and to bring pride and happiness to the fans and the community"

Sporting Director Lee Tucker stated "We are really pleased to be appointing Bruno as our head coach. His experience in European football will be invaluable for the development of our players and the club as a whole. We have received very positive feedback from seasoned professionals in the English game who worked with him at Nottingham Forest, highlighting the calibre of coach we are bringing to Rochester".

Jamie Vardy added that "As a group we were extremely impressed with Bruno's presentation, which outlined his coaching philosophy, something that was in sync with the club's own vision and style of play." Co-owner David Dworkin supported this commenting how "as a club we feel we are in very good hands in getting this team off the ground and being competitive in our first year back. We feel this appointment demonstrates the ambition and draw of the club'.

Baltazar will be joined in the US by Guilherme Ramos as assistant head coach.
