Despite falling to North Texas SC 3-1 on the road in Matchweek 2, the 19-year-old Colorado Rapids 2 midfielder rifled off a shot that will be heard around the world. With his direct free kick from outside the box, the former Seattle Sounders Academy product earned the weekly honor.
Aquino took 46% of the fan vote on MLS NEXT Pro's instagram, beatining out Justin Ellis of Orlando City B (36%), Real Monarchs' Antonio Riquelme (10%), and Dylan Lacy of CT United (9%).
