HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (July 12, 2026) – Huntsville City FC played to a scoreless draw against Philadelphia Union 2 on Sunday afternoon before falling in the post-match penalty shootout.
The match marked the first meeting between the two clubs this season, with neither side able to find the breakthrough in a tightly contested match. After a scoreless first half, both teams continued to battle through the second half, sending the match to a penalty shootout.
Philadelphia Union 2 converted all five of its penalty kicks, while Huntsville City FC scored three, earning the Boys in Blue one point in the MLS NEXT Pro standings.
Huntsville City FC returns home on Saturday, July 18, to host Atlanta United 2 at Wicks Family Field for Space Night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
