HUNTSVILLE, Ala. Huntsville City FC fell 1-0 to Carolina Core FC on Sunday night in the second matchup between the two sides this season.
After securing a 3-0 victory over Carolina Core earlier this season, the Boys in Blue faced a tightly contested battle on Sunday night. Carolina Core opened the scoring in the 44th minute, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Huntsville continued to push for an equalizer in the second half, but Carolina Core’s defense held strong to preserve the shutout. Ten minutes of stoppage time were added in the second half as the match came down to the final moments, but Carolina held on to secure the 1-0 victory.
The Boys in Blue will return home to Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium on Sunday, July 5 at 7pm, for Americana Night. Fans can enjoy a night of soccer, celebration, and a post-match fireworks show honoring America’s 250th anniversary.
