HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (June 5, 2026) – Huntsville City FC fell 2–1 to Toronto FC II on Friday night at York Lions Stadium in the first meeting between the two clubs this season. Entering the match, Toronto FC II sat fourth in the Eastern Conference while Huntsville City FC occupied ninth place.
Toronto FC II opened the scoring in the 16th minute, taking an early 1–0 advantage. The hosts doubled their lead in the 40th minute, carrying a 2–0 edge into halftime.
The second half remained scoreless for much of the night as Huntsville City FC continued to push for a breakthrough. The Boys in Blue found the back of the net in the 94th minute when Maximus Ekk scored deep into stoppage time, cutting the deficit to one. However, Toronto FC II was able to see out the final moments and secure the 2–1 victory.
Huntsville City FC now returns home to host Orlando City B on Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m. CT at Wicks Family Field for Armed Forces Night.
