HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (May 23, 2026) - Huntsville City FC fell 4–0 to Chicago Fire II on Saturday afternoon on the road in the second meeting between the two sides this season. The first matchup earlier this year ended in a scoreless draw before Chicago Fire II claimed the extra point in a penalty shootout.
Chicago Fire II came out on the front foot early, finding the opening goal in the 13th minute before adding two more first-half finishes in the 30th and 40th minutes to take a 3–0 lead into halftime.
Huntsville City FC continued to battle throughout the second half, creating opportunities while looking to cut into the deficit, but Chicago Fire II added one final goal in second-half stoppage time from the penalty spot to close out the 4–0 result.
The Boys in Blue now return home to face CT United FC for the first time this season on Saturday May 30 at 7 p.m. CT at Wicks Family Field. The match will also feature the first postmatch fireworks show of the season.
