Whitecaps FC 2 midfielder Kamron Habibullah has been crowned the winner of the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchday 9. His incredible curler during the match against Tacoma Defiance last Sunday earned him the honor, capturing nearly 50% of the Twitter vote. 

Esmir Bajraktarevic from New England Revolution II came in second with 30% of the vote, while Carl Sainté from North Texas SC and Alex Alcalá from LA Galaxy II secured around 13% and 10% of the vote, respectively.

Whitecaps FC 2 celebrated their fifth victory of the season by defeating their Cascadia rivals Tacoma Defiance with a score of 1-0. Habibullah's goal arrived in the 57th minute, courtesy of a well-executed counter strike by his team. The 19-year-old received a pass near the left corner of the box from Gio Aguilar, cut inside onto his right foot, and unleashed a powerful strike that got past Tacoma Defiance's goalkeeper, Andrew Thomas, who had been solid throughout the match.

Kamron Habibullah's goal in the match last Sunday brings his season tally to four goals, along with one assist. His goal-scoring prowess and ability to impact the game make him a valuable asset for Whitecaps FC 2, elevating their performance and adding an extra dimension to their attack.

With their win on Matchday 9, Whitecaps FC 2 now holds the third spot in the Western Conference, having earned a total of 17 points so far this season. The team's focus now shifts to an upcoming two-game road trip to conclude the month of May. They will face Earthquakes II and LA Galaxy II, aiming to continue their successful run and maintain their impressive form.
