Houston Dynamo 2 forward Isaiah Reid has earned the Goal of Matchweek 16 award after receiving close to 40% of the poll vote.

Other Goal of Matchweek 16 nominees included Orlando City B’s Favian Loyola, Tacoma Defiance’s Danny Leyva and Crown Legacy FC’s Nimfasha Berchimas.

Isaiah Reid scored his award-winning goal in the 83rd minute of Houston Dynamo 2’s match against MNUFC2. He teamed up with Sebastian Rodriguez to create space in the MNUFC2 box and then fired a powerful shot that secured the win for Houston.

The Clemson University product was selected 34th overall by the Houston Dynamo in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. Reid had a remarkable college career, winning the 2022 Men’s College Cup with the Tigers and finished his career with 14 goals and four assists in 64 games for Clemson.

The 23-year-old forward has played in 12 matches for Houston Dynamo 2 in 2024, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

After breaking a two game losing streak, Houston Dynamo 2 will attempt to earn back to back victories when they travel to play Ventura County FC on Friday, July 5th.
