MLS NEXT Pro Matchday 13 kicked off with some midweek action, featuring two wins for top Eastern Conference sides and a tight Western Conference clash.

Here is a look back at Wednesday's action in MLS NEXT Pro Matchday 13:

New England Revolution II (1) - NYCFC II (0)

New England Revolution II halted NYCFC II's four-game winning roll thanks to a goal from Malcolm Fry in the 57th minute. Revs II goalkeeper Nicola Campuzano made three saves while he and his back line faced 17 shots.

Fry punched in the rebound in the 57th minute after a hustle play from Jordan Adebayo-Smith. Adebayo-Smith created the scoring chance by stealing the ball off a defender and sprinting into the attacking third. His saved shot fell to Fry, who made no mistake.

Revs II has lost only one match in the previous month, a span of time in which they have only dropped four points. NYCFC II sees its four-game winning streak broken, but remains in the hunt among Eastern Conference playoff spots.

Philadelphia Union II (0) - Crown Legacy FC (2)

Two goals in the span of eight minutes during the second half allowed Crown Legacy FC to solidify its standing atop the Eastern Conference. Vinicius Mello starred for Crown Legacy with a goal and an assist.

Vinicius Mello opened scoring by heading home an excellent lofted cross by Jacob Williams. Agyemang scored his second goal in as many games in the 65th minute. Agyemang latched onto a long ball forward and outran two defenders before slotting it home.

Crown Legacy got things back on track after a shocking loss to Crew 2 last weekend. Union II continue to ride a rollercoaster of results, but remain just outside of playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.

St Louis CITY2 (0) - Austin FC II (1)

CJ Fodrey's close-range volley in the 69th minute was all Austin FC II needed to claim three points on the road in a hotly contested Western Conference matchup. Austin FC II fended off 23 shots from CITY2, and Austin FC II goalkeeper Damian Las recorded four saves.

Fodrey made Austin FC II's pressure count, scoring from point-blank after a teammate's diving effort went off the crossbar. Fodrey scored his second goal in as many games.

Austin FC II are now on a three-game winning streak, and have reversed a trend of poor road performances with the club's second win away from home of 2023. CITY2 have now lost twice since going on a five-game unbeaten run.
