Orlando City B has named Manuel Goldberg as Orlando City B’s Head Coach, it was announced today. Goldberg takes over OCB following two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the MLS NEXT Pro squad, making him the youngest Head Coach in MLS NEXT Pro history.

“With the system we’ve set up in the Club, promoting from within is always something we strive to do if possible and with Manu the choice was clear for us,” said Orlando City SC VP of Soccer Operations Ricardo Moreira. “He’s a talented, young coach – the youngest Head Coach in MLS NEXT Pro history – and he’s constantly connected with the First Team and Academy coaching staffs, making him the right choice for us in a season where we’ll be focusing on the development of players and promotion to the First Team even more than ever. We’re excited to have Manu leading OCB now and we’re excited for all that he’ll accomplish.”

Goldberg, 30, steps up into the head coaching role with Orlando City B following two seasons as an assistant coach on Martín Perelman’s staff, in which the team made its first-ever MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs appearance and oversaw the professional development of numerous talented players.

Prior to joining Orlando City B ahead of the 2022 season, Goldberg spent time working for Barça Academy PRO Miami, where he served as a competitive program coach for nearly two years. He began his coaching career in 2015 with Hapoel Katamon in Israel, having played professionally for three years in the country, and also served in several roles with Club Nautico Hacoaj in Buenos Aires from 2017-19, including serving as an Assistant Coach in the Torneo Federal C de AFA for the club.

OCB begins its third MLS NEXT Pro campaign on Saturday, March 16 against Atlanta United 2 at Fifth Third Stadium. That match will kick off at 3 p.m. ET.
