HIGH POINT, N.C. (March 11, 2024) - Carolina Core FC today announced that the club has signed midfielder Derek Cuevas to a contract for the 2024 season.
Cuevas, 20, joins the club after spending the previous season with the FC Barcelona U20 team in Spain The native Spaniard looks to forward his development with Carolina Core FC in its inaugural season.
“Derek comes to us from Barcelona. He’s a midfielder that’s very good on the ball and quick,” said Head Coach Roy Lassiter. “He has good vision and we feel his skill sets and ability will fit in well with the team.”
The Barcelona local joins CCFC, in its inaugural season, bringing a high-level of playing experience with him. Cuevas is very gifted dribbler with a high level of ability to find the right pass and get into dangerous positions.
“We look forward to seeing his progress throughout the year,” remarked Lassiter.
