Carolina Core FC Sign Midfielder Mohamed Diakite

HIGH POINT, NC (Thursday, September 11, 2025) Carolina Core FC today announced that the club has signed midfielder Mohamed Diakite.

Diakite, 29, joins Carolina Core FC after having played with Appalachian FC (2025) in the 2025 US Open Cup and Apothoes FC (2025) in USL League Two, SG Sonnenhof Großaspach (2020-22) in the German Fourth Division, Dacia Unirea Braila (2018-20) in the Romanian Third Division, SSC Farul (2017-18) in the Romanian Second Division, and Kalonji Pro Profile (2017) in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). Most recently, Diakite appeared for Apothoes FC during the 2025 USL League Two regular season.

The Abidjan, Ivory Coast, native brings significant experience to Carolina Core FC, having played abroad in the German and Romanian leagues at the beginning of his career. After returning from abroad, Diakite returned to the U.S. Soccer system competing for USL League Two club Apothoes FC, as well as competing in the 2025 U.S. Open Cup with North Carolina based club, Appalachian FC.
