Foxes Come from Behind to Win
Carolina Core FC fell behind early in the second half after Tigres UANL U23 found the back of the net in the 54th minute. However, the lead would be short-lived, as The Foxes leveled proceedings through an Anthony Sumo Jr. thunderstrike in the 58th minute. The Foxes would complete the turnaround, getting the go-ahead goal through midfielder Corey Lundeen in the 65th minute, marking his first goal for the club.
Corey Lundeen Scores First Goal
Corey Lundeen scored his first goal for Carolina Core FC in the second half to power The Foxes into a win over their international opponents. The 25-year-old midfielder was put through on goal by David “Pachi” Polanco, and Lundeen would produce a superb finish past the keeper to put The Core up by one. Since his signing in late June, Lundeen has made five appearances in MLS NEXT Pro this season.
Robert Bailey Makes First Appearance
Goalkeeper Robert Bailey made his first appearance this season for Carolina Core FC in the team’s international friendly against Tigres UANL U23, coming on as a substitute in the 75th minute. His performance was highlighted by a crucial save late in the final minutes of the match to keep The Foxes’ lead intact.
