As Carolina Core FC prepares to host Chicago Fire FC II at Truist Point Stadium for a midseason rematch this Saturday evening, we’re breaking down the key stats defining this Matchweek 11 showdown.
0 – Building on the Past
The Foxes earned their first points of the 2026 season back in March against this very Chicago side, battling through difficult weather conditions to a 0-0 draw. Having already proven they can shut down the Fire II attack, the Core return to High Point looking to one-up that previous result and secure more points in front of the home crowd.
2 – Raimbault the Playmaker
Thomas Raimbault has been a creative force in his first season with the club. Currently tied for second in the league with four assists, the New Zealand native will look to continue carving out chances for the Foxes this Saturday.
9 – Goal of the Matchweek
Forward Anthony Sumo Jr. enters the weekend with some extra hardware after officially winning 'Goal of the Matchweek' for Matchweek 9. Sumo Jr. earned the honors following a sensational curling effort during our last outing at Truist Point Stadium, once again showing he only needs a pocket of space to find the back of the net.
27 – Holliday’s Safe Hands
Between the posts, Nick Holliday continues to be a reliable presence for the Foxes. Holliday has recorded 27 saves in MLS NEXT Pro play this season, coming up with acrobatic stops in recent weeks to anchor the Core's defense.
