Huntsville City Football Club Visits Atlanta United 2 at 6:30 P.m. CT on Sunday

Huntsville, Ala. (July 21, 2023)– Huntsville City Football Club will hit the road this weekend to take on Atlanta United 2 at 6:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, July 23. The match marks the first of two meetings between the clubs. The sides will meet again on Sept. 10 at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.

Earlier today, Huntsville City FC Head Coach Jack Collison and forward Azaad Liadi previewed the match against Atlanta United 2. Coach Collison discussed returning to the home of his former club, Adem Sipić’s performance in the 2023 MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate, and what he has learned as he approaches his 100th career match managed.

Liadi also discussed how he looks to continue impacting the team, his selection to the Nashville SC Leagues Cup roster, and the importance of picking up points on the road.

Earlier this week, goalkeeper Ben Martino and forward Adem Sipić participated in MLS All-Star Week. Martino competed in the Goalie Wars Exhibition as part of the 2023 MLS All-Stars Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G. More info can be found here. Five Huntsville City FC players have been selected to Nashville SC’s Leagues Cup Roster: Joey Skinner, Joey DeZart, Isaiah Johnston, Azaad Liadi, and Ben Martino. Nashville’s first match in the tournament takes place on Sunday, July 23 against Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. CT at GEODIS Park.
