Death, taxes, and Decision Day serving up the drama. We know these things for certain.
Matchweek 29 got us a little closer to knowing how this year’s playoff bracket will shape up, but there’s still plenty up for grabs even for the 13 sides that have punched their tickets.
Namely, benefitting from the Pick-Your-Opponent feature and home-field advantage. In the East, only New York Red Bulls II and Philadelphia Union II have secured those seeds, and it’ll come down to the wire for the remaining spots.
In the West, underneath St Louis CITY2's dominant 13-point lead, a four-horse race between The Town FC, Colorado Rapids 2, Real Monarchs, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 rages on, with one team inevitably being the odd one out.
Here is a closer look at the Top 10 Power Rankings heading into the final week of the season.
Another week, another match to extend the streak.
St Louis CITY2 are the envy of the league right now with an 18-game unbeaten run, control of the top overall seed, and the ability to rotate some of their best talent seamlessly.
Nothing that happens on Decision Day will change that CITY2 have unquestionably gotten the most out of the 2025 season.

A quality road in Philadelphia Union II’s trip to the great north made it a four-game winning streak.
With a strong bid to take the top spot in the East, Union II fans will be rooting against RBNY II this week and hoping for a Decision Day win.
Last match: 2-1 win at Toronto FC II
Next match: vs. NYCFC II on Sunday, 10/5
The Town FC close out the regular season with two home matches in Matchweek 30.

Last match: 1-0 loss vs. Tacoma Defiance
Next match: vs. WFC2 on Wednesday, 10/1
New York Red Bulls II had a bye to get ready for a two-game Matchweek 30.
They’ll get their opponents’ best shot this week as FC Cincinnati 2 and Toronto FC II vie to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Looking to lock in the top Eastern Conference seed, RBNY II can’t afford to drop points in either match.
Last match: 1-1 tie, SOL vs. Inter Miami II
Next match: at FCC 2 on Wednesday, 10/1
Chattanooga FC find themselves in an interesting position to close out the regular season.
They currently own a 70th-minute 1-0 lead over Atlanta United 2 in a match that has been postponed to later in the week due to inclement weather last week and will be made up later this week.
They’ll have to finish that one off later this week and then do it all over again, as they were already scheduled to host ATL UTD 2 on Decision Day.
Taking all six points should do the trick to move them into a hosting seed, but ATL UTD 2 and their back-to-back wins to save the season say they’re going to be tough to be once, let alone twice.
Last match: 1-0 win at NYCFC II
Next match: at. ATL UTD 2 (TBD)
Damien Barker John was at the peak of his powers in Huntsville City FC’s 4-1 win over Inter Miami II on Sunday with a goal and pair of assists.
Most notably, the win kept HCFC in control of a host seed. They will need to win and have results elsewhere to go their way in Matchweek 30, but the idea of playoff soccer in Rocket City is alive and kicking.
Last match: 4-1 win vs. Inter Miami II
Next match: vs. Carolina Core FC on Sunday, 10/5
Back-to-back losses for New England Revolution II have opened the door for some Decision Day chaos.
They’ll likely need a win to keep control of their hosting seed, and even that may not be enough if Chattanooga get all six of their available remaining points.
Last match: 1-0 loss vs. Crown Legacy FC
Next match: at Inter Miami II on Sunday, 10/5
A small sputter over the weekend puts Colorado Rapids 2’s pick-your-opponent status at risk.
Level with Real Monarchs on points now, Rapids 2 still have something to play for in the final week of the season.
Last match: 2-1 loss vs. MNUFC2
Next match: at Ventura County FC on Sunday, 10/5
Back-to-back losses, both by a 5-2 margin, have cooled a once red-hot Chicago Fire FC II.
They’ve also allowed 14 goals in their last three games, something head coach Mike Matkovic will want to see tighten up in one more rehearsal before playoffs begin.
Last match: 5-2 loss vs. Atlanta United 2
Next match: at Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday, 10/5
If it’s all about getting hot at the right time, Real Monarchs have understand the assignment and are acing it.
Winners of three in a row and controlling a host playoff seed, they are primed to make a huge statement in the playoffs courtesy of their recent surge.
Last match: 4-2 win at North Texas SC
Next match: vs. Whitecaps FC 2 on Sunday, 10/5
