Ventura County FC will host their first-ever MLS NEXT Pro conference final when they face off against rival Los Angeles FC 2 on Friday, October 30 at 10 PM ET.

After taking down MNUFC2 in extra time in the quarterfinals round, they traveled north to take on Timbers2 and walked away with another upset victory and a ticket to the Western Conference Final thanks to a late Arnau Vilamitjana winner.

Now they are just one win away from making their first MLS NEXT Cup appearance and could have a chance to host if Chattanooga FC fall in their Eastern Conference Final against Columbus Crew 2.

Season series

Ventura County FC faced LAFC2 three times in 2026, recording one win, a shootout win, and one loss.

VCFC lost their first meeting on May 16 but won their last two, with a 2-0 home win on July 18 and a 4-2 shootout victory on September 18.

The all-time series tips in favor of their rivals, with LAFC2 winning half of their matchups so far, with six wins in their 12 meetings since 2024.

Player spotlight

Matt Taylor’s side received a late-season boost up front with the signing of striker Daniel Ittycheria, who scored against MNUFC2 during the quarterfinal round.

Arnau Vilamitjana has scored in back-to-back games as a substitute, proving to be an invaluable weapon off the bench in critical moments.

At the defensive end, goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon anchors a backline featuring Pepe Magaña, Riley Dalgado, Mason Vanney, and captain Sebastián Hernández, giving Ventura County a defensive unit capable of matching up against any opponent.
