A Roberto Avila hat trick led Houston Dynamo 2 to a 3-0 win over Sporting KC II at Rock Chalk Park Sunday evening.

Avila found the back of the net in the 8th minute, in first-half stoppage time and from the penalty spot in the 55th minute to lead the Dynamo 2 to a third consecutive victory to start the season. He started the first two matches of the season, but tonight’s contest in Kansas City saw the winger bag his first goals of the season.

Dynamo Dos midfielder Marcelo Palomino had a chance to double the Dynamo Dos lead from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, but SKC II goalkeeper John Pulskamp came up big with a massive penalty kick save to deny Palomino his second goal of the season.

Houston Dynamo 2 has claimed three points for the third straight week and continues to be the only unblemished MLS NEXT Pro side. On top of winning in three straight weeks, Dynamo 2 has kept three straight clean sheets in the process.

STORY: Three games, three wins, three clean sheets: Houston Dynamo 2 is flying high

Riding a Roberto Aliva hat trick, Dynamo Dos downed Sporting KC II 3-0 at Rock Chalk Park Sunday evening, where Aliva bagged all three goals with his right foot – including the third from the penalty spot.

Dynamo Dos is the team to watch early on in the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season as Head Coach Kenny Bundy has his squad flying high after week three. Three dominant showings, including 1-0 victories over Whitecaps FC II on opening weekend and Earthquakes II in week two, have Dynamo 2 looking down on the rest of the league.

Houston Dynamo 2 will sit atop the MLS NEXT Pro standings after week three with nine points, one point clear of second place North Texas SC as Dynamo Dos continues to be the hottest team in the league.

Out-possessed in all three matches, Dynamo Dos have put on a counter-attacking clinic to cause chaos in the opposition’s box while finding the back of the net. Despite not having the majority of the ball in all three matches, they’ve found a way to break down the opposing defense when presented with the opportunity.

Dynamo Dos will take a perfect record to PNC Stadium to take on Portland Timbers 2 next week, hoping to stay atop the overall league standings while keeping a fourth straight clean sheet in the process.
