Match Notes: CT United FC Falls 2-0 on the Road to New England Revolution II

Smithfield, R.I. (March 22, 2026) — CT United FC dropped a 2-0 result on the road against New England Revolution II on Sunday afternoon despite a strong start and controlling much of the early play.

Building on its road win in Philadelphia, CT United controlled the opening stages, dictating possession and creating quality chances, but couldn’t convert.

New England goalkeeper Donovan Parisian was called into action early, making a strong save on a 12th-minute effort from Alex Monis. Moments later, a sharp combination down the left side between Laurie Goddard and Barnabas Tanyi led to a dangerous chance, with Tanyi’s shot deflected out for a corner.

Against the run of play, New England opened the scoring in the 18th minute. After a turnover, Jayden Da struck from distance, beating Anthony Ramos to give the home side a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Damario McIntosh.

CT United continued to press for an equalizer and nearly conceded a second in the 38th minute when Makai Wells found the back of the net, but the goal was called back due to a foul in the buildup.

Despite outshooting New England 10-2 in the first half, CT United went into the break trailing 1-0.

The second half began in similar fashion, with CT United generating chances. Parisian again denied Tanyi in the 51st minute to preserve the lead.

New England doubled its advantage in the 56th minute when Malcolm Fry finished from inside the box, slotting a left-footed shot into the bottom corner off an assist from Cristiano Oliveira.

While New England grew more comfortable in possession as the half progressed, CT United continued to push forward but could not find a way past Parisian, who delivered a standout performance in goal.

CT United will face New England two more times this season in what is shaping up to be a budding New England derby. The club now turns its attention to its home opener on April 11 against Columbus Crew 2 at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn.
