Chattanooga FC travels to face Toronto FC II as the team's quest to clinch a playoff spot continues.
Chattanooga FC looks to make more history in Toronto on Friday evening.
The Boys in Blue bring a 10-match unbeaten streak to York Lions Stadium, and if Head Coach Richard Dixon and Co avoid defeat, it will represent the longest unbeaten run in the club's MLS NEXT Pro era.
CFC is coming off a gritty 1-0 win over rivals Atlanta United 2 in what was Dixon's first match in charge since having his 'interim' tag removed and becoming the team's permanent head coach.
Forward Alex Krehl added his 13th goal of the season to take him into outright second place in the league's golden boot race.
This will be the only meeting in the 2026 regular season between the two teams.
The match has major playoff implications with Chattanooga FC currently in second place and Toronto currently in 12th place chasing a playoff spot in a perennially competitive Eastern Conference.
The teams have met four previous times. CFC has the edge in the series head-to-head with a 2W-1L-1D record and one shootout win over TFC. CFC has won both previous encounters at York Lions Stadium.
CFC's most notable performance against the Canadian club came near the end of the 2024 campaign when the team exploded with four goals in a 5-1 win at York Lions Stadium.
Coach's corner
Head Coach Richard Dixon previewed the match with media this week.
"They've been on a good run of form," said Dixon. "They played Chicago on Monday and are coming off a good result away from home winning 4-2 against a good team. They were clinical in front of goal. They're good in possession. They can hurt you in the build-up or over the top. They look to try and play through and rely on their intricate, possession style of football, but they can hurt teams with their direct play. They're good in transition as well with their counter-attacks, so that's something we have to be aware of."

Toronto FC II sits in 12th place in the East with an 8W-10L-3D, 1SOW record (28 pts). Toronto's coming off a wild 4-2 victory at Chicago Fire FC II on Monday.
Midfielder Jahmarie Nolan leads the team with eight goals this season. Forward Fletcher Bank leads the way for Toronto in assists with five on the year so far.
TFC II is led by Head Coach Gianni Cimini, who is in his fifth season in charge.
One of Toronto's goalkeeping options is Adisa De Rosario, the son of former Canadians men's national team player and MLS legend Dwayne De Rosario.
