"Jathan is a talented versatile player that can play in the wingback and/or centerback position.  I have observed Jathan for 2 years with the Houston Dynamo MLS NEXT Pro team and seen his development and look forward to seeing the contribution he will bring to Carolina Core FC," states Roy Lassiter, Head Coach.

Juarez joins Carolina Core FC from MLS NEXT Pro side, Houston Dynamo 2. With Dynamo, Juarez rose through the ranks, joining Houston Dynamo Academy in 2018. The defender made his professional debut for Houston Dynamo 2 with a victory over St. Louis City 2 in September of 2022.

The defender had a stand-out 2022 season within MLS NEXT Pro. Juarez appeared in 23 matches (starting 16) and recorded 1,546 minutes. Following his rookie season with Houston Dynamo 2, Juarez appeared in 24 matches (17 starting 17) in his 2023 season.

"We are excited to welcome Jathan to the club. His work ethic on both sides of the ball is what really caught our attention. He defends well, and he knows how to join the attack responsibly. We're looking forward to working with him as he continues to develop as a player," says Eddie Pope, Chief Sporting Officer.

The San Diego native will join Carolina Core FC in their inaugural season with MLS NEXT Pro this coming spring. His previous experience within the league will be instrumental. Carolina Core FC will play their home matches at Truist Point Stadium in downtown High Point, North Carolina.
