CHESTER, PA (April 12, 2026) — On a sunny Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, Carolina Core FC fell 4-1 to Philadelphia Union II. While the result wasn't what the Foxes hoped for, the afternoon was highlighted by a clinical debut goal from newest signing Arnaud Tattevin.
The Foxes created early pressure in the 6th minute, nearly finding the opener when Thomas Raimbault pounced on a loose rebound. Despite that early threat and several key defensive stops, Union II found the breakthrough via Malik Jakupovic in the 20th minute. The hosts maintained their momentum, doubling the lead through Stas Korzeniowski just five minutes later.
Nick Holliday kept the Foxes within reach with a spectacular 29th-minute save, but the Core faced a stroke of misfortune just sixty seconds later when a Korzeniowski strike took a heavy deflection into the back of the net. The unlucky bounce left the Core trailing 3-0 heading into the halftime break.
Seeking a spark, CCFC introduced Arnaud Tattevin for his club debut to start the second half. The Core nearly found an immediate response in the 47th minute when Raimbault’s quick strike whistled just past the post. Holliday continued to stand tall with several impressive saves throughout the second half, though Union II managed to extend their lead to 4-0 in the 63rd minute.
The Core’s persistence finally paid off late in the half. Thomas Raimbault threaded a ball through to Tattevin, with the Frenchman showing great composure to slip a clinical finish past the keeper. The goal marked a productive debut for Tattevin in a Foxes jersey and gave Raimbault his team-high second assist of the season.
The Core return to action on the road next Sunday, April 19, for a rematch against Orlando City B.
