CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 9, 2024) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has completed the transfer of midfielder Jude Arthur from Georgian first division side FC Samgurali Tskaltubo.
Arthur has signed a two-year deal with a club option for a year extension. The Ghanaian midfielder will join Chattanooga FC pending receipt of his P1 Visa.
The former Ghana youth national team player began his professional career with the renowned Liberty Professionals, where he spent his academy years, in the Ghana Premier League. Liberty Professionals has produced some of the greatest Ghanaian footballers in recent history, including Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan and many others.
Arthur made the move to Europe and signed for Finnish top flight side SJK Seinäjoki in 2019, where he spent two competitive seasons before being loaned out to FC Haka in the same division in Finland in 2022.
The Accra-born midfielder signed with Georgian top flight side FC Samgurali Tskaltubo in 2023 and had a successful stint making 32 appearances.
"Jude is a player we felt would give us an anchor in midfield," said Head Coach and Sporting Director Rod Underwood. "He also has the technical ability, mobility and defensive ability to really fit into what we are doing and what we need. We believe he is a player who will strengthen our team in many ways.”
Arthur expressed his excitement about this next stage in his young career.
“I feel very honored and so happy to have the opportunity of joining one of the most historical clubs in American football and with the best fanbase in the country as well,” said Arthur.
“I know CFC is a place I can keep developing my career and I want to be part of CFC’s history.”
Arthur will wear the number 25 jersey.
