Chattanooga Football Club signs Robert Screen

Robert Screen Signing Announcement

THE VERSATILE DEFENDER IS THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY'S ALL-TIME APPEARANCE LEADER.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Jan. 10, 2024 — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed Robert Screen to a one-year deal with a club option for a year extension, pending league and federation approval.

The 23-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina spent five successful seasons at the University of Kentucky where he became the school’s all-time appearance maker.

The versatile Screen spent his first professional season with Forward Madison FC in USL League One, where he made 16 appearances in the league and one start in the US Open Cup.

“Robert has a quality we really look for in a player: he can play multiple positions and possess key qualities that fit our style of play,” said Head Coach and Sporting Director Rod Underwood. “Also, he believes in the culture we have created and continues to create as a club. His ability to play on offense and defense makes him a very inviting player to us.”

Screen developed as a player at North Carolina FC’s academy, while he also played for the club’s U-23 side during his college years, making 29 appearances and scoring six goals across 2019, 2021 and 2022.

“I am very excited to be joining Chattanooga FC,” said Screen. “I know that it is a long standing and successful team with a great backing from the community, which makes me very excited for the upcoming season. I cannot wait to help Chattanooga on and off the field this coming year!

“The importance of a good community around a soccer club is something that cannot be stressed enough. The fanbase can very easily be the difference in how a team does during a season, which is why I am very pleased to see how well supported CFC is.”

Chattanooga FC will compete in MLS NEXT Pro for the first time beginning in 2024. Fans can explore all ticketing options at ChattanoogaFC.com.
