Chattanooga Football Club defender Jesse Williams has been called up to the Trinidad and Tobago national team for the country's crucial Copa America play-in qualifier against Canada on March 23rd in Frisco, Texas.

Williams has made ten appearances for Trinidad and Tobago.

He played for his country in the Concacaf Nations League quarter-finals against the United States men’s national team in November 2023.

Williams made his international debut on June 8th 2021 in a 2-0 win over St Kitts and Nevis. The next month he started for Trinidad and Tobago in a goalless draw against Mexico in the group stage of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.

"I'm really excited," said Williams. "It's huge. I'll enjoy the day and celebrate with my family, but I'm fully focused on the game this weekend.

"It's a one-off. If we win, we go to the Copa America with the opportunity to play countries like Argentina, for example. So it's a huge game."

Chattanooga FC kicks off the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season this weekend with a home opener against Huntsville City FC at Finley Stadium at 3:00 p.m. ET. Williams will be available for selection for the match.
