MW13power rankings

Another week of MLS NEXT Pro action is in the books, and it brings a few shakeups in the latest edition of the Top 10 Power Rankings.

Among them, the Eastern Conference power struggle has gotten a little tighter with New York Red Bulls II’s four-game winning streak putting them right on the heels of first-place Chattanooga FC, who’ve enjoyed a comfortable lead up until this point.

Out west, St Louis CITY2 topped defending MLS NEXT Pro Cup champs North Texas SC in the latest installment of their grudge match and replay of last year’s dramatic Western Conference Final.

Here is a closer look at how Matchweek 13’s action shook up the top 10 power rankings below.

Chattanooga FC took the shootout point against Inter Miami II on Saturday for a successful response to their second loss of the season.

They did had to rally for it, though.

Being able to respond to an early 2-0 deficit was a great test for Chris Nugent’s group, who have spent most of the season playing with a lead.

They’re sill holding down first place in the East and see their second one-vs.-two battle this weekend when they square off with New York Red Bulls II.

It’s starting to look like some of last year’s playoff heavyweights are likely to return to the 2025 postseason, and having two wins over the defending MLS NEXT Pro Cup champs is a very good thing to have.

Also worth a mention, head coach David Critchley has been called up to interim the St. Louis first team, which has put inaugural CITY2 head coach John Hackworth back at the helm for CITY2.

Hackworth led CITY2 all the way to the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Cup final in year one.
