Carolina Core FC rides into Sunday's match against Huntsville City FC on a shootout victory over Inter Miami CF II. After earning a hard-fought two points to close out the road trip, the Foxes see an opportunity to capitalize against the team above them in the standings.
1 - Looking to Make History
The Core will face CT United FC for the first time in club history, marking the inaugural meeting between the two teams. The Foxes will look to earn the first-ever victory against Connecticut, while continuing to build momentum after an impressive shutout at home. As they hit the road, the Core will aim to carry that confidence into the historic matchup.
20 - Player to Watch: Thomas Raimbault
Thomas Raimbault scored his second goal of the season in the Foxes 1-0 victory over Huntsville City FC. The midfielder played a vital role in the attack, serving as a key outlet in possession and helping maintain control throughout the match. Raimbault recorded two shots on target, continuing his trend of testing opposing goalkeepers this season. As the Core prepare to face Connecticut United, he'll look to build on his momentum and continue delivering with the composure and clinical finishing that has made him an attacking threat.
3 - Three New Players
The Foxes premiered three new players in their victory over Huntsville on Sunday. Bryce Swinehart got the start on the back line, tallying a shot and a 92.5% passing percentage in 90 minutes. Brothers Graham and Bodie Ford subbed in during the second half. Bodie played 23 minutes while Graham recorded only four minutes. Carolina hopes to see this newest wave of additions hit the ground running as they made their debuts in the same week they signed with the club.

Carolina Core FC will have to find a way to break down Connecticut United’s strong defense, who currently rank second in the league in shots conceded. Despite the defensive pressure, CT United find themselves on the opposite end of the table in goals allowed, conceding 28 this season. The Core enter this matchup with plenty of attacking momentum after outshooting Huntsville 21-5. The Foxes will need to maintain that offensive pressure and capitalize on their opportunities in front of goal in order to get past one of the league's strongest backlines.
