(High Point, NC – June 12, 2026) - Carolina Core FC announced the signing of midfielder Seth Hammond, adding a promising young talent to the professional ranks following an accomplished collegiate career.
Hammond joins the Foxes after competing at Elon University, UNC Asheville, and most recently St. Bonaventure University, where he developed into a consistent attacking presence in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
During his collegiate career, Hammond totaled 55 NCAA appearances, recording 15 goals and 10 assists. His most productive season came in 2025 at St. Bonaventure, where he started all 15 matches and finished with seven goals and seven assists, emerging as one of the conference’s most consistent midfield contributors. At UNC Asheville, he made 33 appearances with 30 starts, registering eight goals and three assists across two seasons, including a standout 2024 campaign in which he scored seven goals and added two assists in 18 matches. He also spent time at Elon University, making seven appearances across the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
During his time with the Bonnies, Hammond earned multiple accolades, including Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors, selection to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week, Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team recognition, and United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region second team honors. His performances throughout the season established him as a central figure in the program’s attacking play.
“Seth is an exciting addition to our squad,” said Interim Head Coach Jake Davis. “His versatility will be a great asset throughout the MLS NEXT Pro season because we want to be tactically adaptable. He’s shown in USL League Two that he can contribute in the attacking phase and create goal-scoring opportunities, and we’re excited to see how he connects with our fans. Seth understands the vision of this club and is fully aligned with what we’re building at Carolina Core FC. To add a player of his quality at this stage of the season is a huge win for us and another example of the different pathways players can take to reach the professional game.”
Prior to his collegiate career, Hammond was a standout at the youth level with Virginia Development Academy under head coach Matt Lacey. He recorded 57 career USSDA goals, finishing as the top scorer in his age group each year from U13 through U17. He also earned eight invitations to U.S. Soccer Training Center and Youth National Team Identification Centers from 2016 to 2019, along with five selections to U.S. Youth National Team regional training centers.
Hammond arrives in High Point ready to take the next step in his development as he begins his professional career. He will be available for selection as Carolina Core FC continues its 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign.
